COVID-19 UPDATE
At Gulf Islands Secondary School the health and safety of students and coaching staff is paramount. At this time we are planning for a return to sport for the 2021/2022 school year. Our re-start plan will align with the BC School Sports guidelines, public health guidelines and the K-12 re-start plan. More information about our tryouts and health and safety guidelines will be made available in early September.

Welcome to Gulf Islands Secondary Athletics!
The GISS athletics program provides the opportunity for students to participate in a variety of sports. Staff, community members, students, and parents make up our volunteer coaching staff, which encourages our student athletes to demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship, and commitment to their sport of choice.

Gulf Islands Secondary's 2019 Grad, Logan Wenzel, helped lead Team BC to victory during Volleyball's 2019 Canada Cup in Halifax. It is the first time British Columbia has won the Canada Cup since 2006!
Logan has also been recruited to play Men's Volleyball at Waterloo University starting September 2019.
Congratulations to 2019 Gulf Islands Secondary Graduate Everest Masselink who will be starting her first-year at Brock University competing on the Varsity Rowing team.
2018 Gulf Islands Secondary Grad, Bonnie Reynolds is entering her second year of rowing at Brock University in Ontario. She received a scholarship in 2018 for academics and athletics at Brock. In her first year, she rowed varsity competing in the National Rowing Championships placing 16th overall. From that regatta and lots of hard work, she achieved the standards to become part of Rowing Canada's NexGen program, recruiting athletes 8 years out from the Olympics.
